Talcher Kaniha Power Station celebrated 27th Foundation Day

The 27th Foundation Day of NTPC Talcher Super Thermal Power Station,Kaniha   was celebrated on June 2nd ,2015. On this occasion, Chief Guest Shri N K Kothari, Group General Manager,Talcher Kaniha hoisted the NTPC flag at the administrative building of the power station.

On June 2, 1989 ,the foundation stone Talcher Super Thermal power station was laid by Former Prime Minister Late Shri.Rajiv Gandhi.The power station was dedicated  to the nation on 28 th August 2006.   Shri Kothari conveyed good wishes to the employees for completion of 26 years of power station.

Shri Kothari addressing the employees said “this day reminds us the contribution and dedication of the employees of Talcher Kaniha who have toiled hard for success of the power station”   Speaking on the plants’ performance, NTPC Talcher Kaniha station has achieved a PLF of 96.43 % during the current fiscal year. The station was ranked 4th best power station in the country and was adjudged as  2nd best power station among the NTPC powers stations during last fiscal year.

Currently, the station is ranked 2nd best power station among NTPC plants, Shri Kothari called the employees to give their best to secure No. 1 position by the end of the fiscal year.   Speaking on the CSR activities undertaken by the station, under Swacch Bharat Abhiyan,NTPC Kaniha is committed to construct 768 toilets. Under this mission the station is making an effort to promote hygiene and health among the school children.

Shri Kothari, congratulated all the Quality Circle teams of the station to bring accolades to the station at various forums from time to time. Towards environment protection, the station has making mass plantation in and around the station. Recently a Workshop on Ash Management and Utilisation was held at the station, which was participated by 200 participants from different power station of Angul district.

Various recommendations and innovative ideas were discussed in the workshop for maximum ash utilisation in power plants.   Shri Kothari appreciated the efforts of various units like CISF including Fire Wing for their efforts of making the plant safe and accidents free. To celebrate this occasion a colourful cultural programme was arranged at Recreation Centre.
