Senior members of Indian Steel Association will meet the Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik to appraise him about various issues being faced by the Steel producers in the state.
Dr. Sanak Mishra, Secretary General & Executive Head of Indian Steel Association has requested the Chief Minister’s Office for an appointment. “This meeting is significantly important not only for briefing the Hon’ble CM about the key challenges, but also for sharing the new initiatives of the steel industry for further development in the State of Odisha, with active cooperation from the State Government,” written Mr. Mishra in his letter to the Chief Minister’s Office. “Altogether, our Member companies already have an integrated steel making capacity of approximately 20 MTPA, with an investment of over Rs. 1,25,000 Crores and provide employment to approximately 1,00,000 residents of the State,” written Mr. Mishra.
Indian Steel Association has been formed by major private sector and public sector steel producers of India. All the eight integrated Steel producers of the country, those with a production capacity of 2 million tons and above are members of this Association. The member companies are SAIL, RINL, TATA Steel, JSW, JSPL, ESSAR Steel, Bhushan Steel and Bhushan Power and Steel.
