Bilhaur Super Thermal Power Plant is a proposed 1320 (MW) coal-fired power project prooted by NTPC at Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, India. The project will require 1600 acres of land of which 60% is privately owned with the rest being government land and coal demand will be approximately 7 million tonnes per annum from the North Karanpura coal Field Jharkhand. along with approximately 40.0 cusecs of water from the Upper Ganga Canal System. The Bilhaur Super Thermal Power project received environmental clearance in late July 2011.
