IB Thermal Power Project is an existing 420 MW coal-fired power plant operated by the Odisha Power Generation Corporation in Odisha, India. An expansion is planned for an increase of 1320 MW in capacity with two new 660 MW units, described by the company as units 3 and 4. Land for the project has been acquired. Environment, forest, and other permits have been acquired, Water has been allotted from Hirakud reservoir. Construction of transmission line for 50% of the power is being completed. The remaining 50% will be constructed by Powergrid.
