Bunji Bundeli Thermal Power Project has been proposed by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL), a publicly-owned generation utility formed in 2009 following the restructuring of the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board. CSPGCL is proposing to build the power station in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh, India. In October 2010 CSPGCL noted that tenders had been called for a detailed project report on the proposal.
In 2013 the India Coal Ministry allotted Baisi coal block in India with an estimated reserve of 150 million tonnes for the Chattishgarh State Power Generation Co. for the proposedKorba South Thermal Power Project (1000 mw) and proposed Bunji Bundeli Thermal Power Project (500 mw).
However, as of March 2015 the project has yet to receive environmental permits, and appears to be shelved.
