The land acquisition for upcoming power plant of NTPC at Lara and Talaipali village should be resolved at earliest, instructed District Collector Alarmelmangai D, while addressing a meeting of district administration and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) officials here on Wednesday. She told the officials of NTPC to contact Tehsildar and Patwaris of concerned regions and settle the pending land acquisition cases soon. The collector inquired Tahsildars about cases connected with illegal name-transfer and land divisions made in villages and their cancellation statues.
She also asked whether already cancelled cases of name-transfer and land division have been updated in land record or not. The collector instructed district administration officers to speed up updating of land record and make it available to NTPC officials. Discussion was also held over preparing of compensation records of acquired land.
Collector Alarmelmangai D asked NTPC officials to present a report of works carried out in village coming under the project. “The report should categorically state pending works and reasons why they are pending,” she told NTPC officials. Commenting over ‘Kotvar’ land being acquired by NTPC Lara project, she said as per the provisions made by state government in lieu of ‘Kotvar’ served land, similar area of land should be provided to them in some other places.
There is no provision for providing monitory compensation to Kotvars, she said. Further the collector also inquired about acquisition status of 9 hectare land that belongs to 80-90 people in Lara village.
