Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) announced the request for proposal (RFP) for procurement of solar power from grid-connected plants. Interested developers will compete for 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) at tariffs to be determined by the tender.
State distribution company Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd is the one to buy the output of the solar photovoltaic (PV) parks. Eligible projects may include both crystalline silicon or thin-film solar technology, as well as concentrating photovoltaics (CPV). Trackers are not mandatory.
The targeted capacity includes 1,000 MW of projects of between 26 MW and 500 MW, due for completion 18 months following the signing of a PPA. The remaining 200 MW under the auction was allocated for solar parks of up to 25 MW, for which developers will be given 13 months to commission.
